Thanks Jett and Abigail for cooking our sausages today. Keeping warm by the bbq looks good.

Warmer day - just!

Today was certainly a bit cold, great that it was warmer day in R4. Unfortunately we forgot to turn on the oven at lunchtime so our food was late getting warmed up. Luckily we're an adaptable lot and we had a slightly later lunch.

Wearable Arts

Over the past few weeks we have been researching and planning for our wearable arts projects. Today we started making our creations, there were many good ideas and lots of teamwork.

Week 9 Term 2

This week we will be making our Wearable arts creations. Please check the post below regarding the bits and pieces that we require.

Please remember that school will be closing early on Thursday, make plans for your child. If you are unable to make plans for your own child then you need to contact the office beforehand. You can collect your child at 1:30pm.

mBot lessons for the Middle school

Bongani, Don, Jett and Paul have all contributed to planning and teaching Middle school students some programming using the mBots.

Today the first group of Middle School students had a lessons and other groups are scheduled over the next few weeks.

Matariki Celebrations

This week we celebrated Matariki by exploring different arts and cooking workshops in the Senior School.

Week 8 Term 2

• Google Classroom assignment - due Friday. 
• Resources are being prepared for Wearable Arts

School photos are scheduled for Friday 22nd June and information/envelopes have been sent home with your child. Please do not leave the ordering of these photos to the last minute. Orders must be with the school office by Wednesday 20 June. Last year we had lots of parents bringing their envelopes in on the day. The organisation on the day is already hectic enough without having to contend with a large number of late orders.

Manuka Team Fundraiser

Manuka Team are selling pizza tomorrow Monday 18th June (bought from Domino's) to raise transport costs to visit Hamilton Zoo.

The choices are cheese, Hawaiian and Pepperoni. The cost is $2 a slice.

All orders are to be made through your classroom.

Please Note:

School is closing at 1:30pm Thursday 28th June so teachers can attend union meetings. If you are unable to collect your child please make arrangements with the office.

What's a flinker?

Well, it's an object that floats and sinks both at the same time. Today we investigated floating, sinking, mass, volume and had lots of fun with water.

Today Krisha and George cooked the sausages, looks like they had fun. It was Krisha's birthday earlier in the week and it is George's this weekend.

Today we started planning for our Wearable arts project. Below is an outline of the project, students will be planning and getting organised for making their creation over the next week.

Our Wearable Arts extravaganza will be in Week 10,  everyone is welcome to come celebrate with us.
