Building the bridge

After the tragic bridge collapse in America last week we decided that it might be a good idea for us ot design and build a better one.

We used MindLabkids as inspiration for Max and Robert to build a draw bridge. There was some great teamwork between these two students.

Using place value to multiply

This is a note for parents:

We have been learning to multiply 2 and 3 digit numbers by using place value (Hundreds, Tens, Units).

Below are two photos of us breaking up the numbers to make them easier to multiply.

So now you know parents, easy right. Just different to the way we learned a few years ago. This is easier to do in our heads than algorithms which are generally a pen and paper strategy.

We are building our own community in Minecraft. Together we are building houses and have talked about building shared spaces such as hospitals, SPCA, parks and farms.
